Siripon and Wallawan

Last week Be went to Chiang Mai to bring two blind children to the hospital. Siripon is from Omgoy province and is 13 years old, Wallawan is 9 months old and comes from Huay Hwai.
Be brought them to Chiang Mai because he had a hope that with the right treatment maybe they could see again. He brought them to a privat eye hospital named St. Peter. Be knows one of the doctor there because he is the father of a friend of Be.
Wallwans family knew Be and Faa lang fon already, but Siripon hadn't met him before. He couldn't visit them last time because it was impossible to drive on the road to her village. Be knew this girl from Muloy. Siripon came to Chiang Mai with her older sister and the teacher. Her parents don't speak thai so they didn't want to come. When they first met Be they were so afraid, and didn't want to go with him. After they called Muloy and she explained how Be looked like they finally agreed to go with him. They were afraid Be was one of those men who tricks girls, telling he will help them but later sells them to prostitution etc. The first thing Be had to give them when they came to Chiang Mai was new clothes. They didn't bring anything. Siripon comes from a very poor family. The parents are farmers. You can see Siripon and her parents on the picture below. They stand in front of their house.

I forrige uke dro Be til Chiang Mai for å ta med to blinde barn til et sykehus der. Siripon er 13 år og kommer fra provinsen Om Goy og Wallawan er 9 måneder og kommer fra Huay Hwai.
Be tok de med til Chiang Mai fordi han hadde et håp om at de ville kunne se igjen dersom de fikk rett behandling. Han tok de med til øyesykehuset St. Peter . Far til en venn av Be er doktor der.
Wallawans familie kjente Be fra før, mens Sirapon hadde Be ikke møtt før. Forrige gang han var i Omgoy så var veien til landsbyen hun bor i uframkommelig. Be kjente til jenta gjennom Muloy. Siripon kom til Chiang Mai sammen med en eldre søster og læreren. Foreldrene hennes snakker ikke thai så de ønsket ikke å være med. Da de traff Be ble de veldig redde og ville ikke være med han. Først etter de hadde ringt Muloy og hun hadde fortalt de hvordan Be såg ut så turde de å være med han. De var redde Be var en av de mennene som lurte jenter med å si at han skulle hjelpe de, men så tok han og selte de til prostitusjon el. Det første Be måtte gjøre var å kjøpe nye klær til de. De hadde ikke med seg noe som helst. Siripon kommer fra en veldig fattig familie. Foreldrene er bønder. På bildet under kan du se henne sammen med foreldrene. De står framfor huset de bor i.Siripon has been blind since she was a baby. She doesn't go to school because of this. The doctor could tell us that the reason for her blindness is that she doesn't have enough vitamin E. He could also tell us that with the right treatment she would be able to see again. He told us that in one year she can be able to run around like other children and she can learn to read. We were so happy. After just one treatment with eye drops she started to see a little bit. She cried and laughed the whole way back to the guesthouse where they stayed. She will use eyedrops for half a year and then she will have a new check up in the hospital. Siripon har vært blind fra hun var baby. Hun går ikke på skolen pga dette. Legen kunne fortelle oss at hun var blind fordi hun manglet E-vitamin. Han kunne også fortelle at med rett behandling så vil hun kunne se igjen. Han fortalte at om et år så vil hun kunne springe rundt som andre barn og også lære seg å lese. Vi ble veldig glade for nyheten alle sammen. Etter bare en behandling med øyedråper så kunne hun se litt. Hun grein og lo hele veien bak til gjestehuset der de overnattet. Hun skal bruke øyedråper i ett halvt år først, da vil hun ha en ny kontroll på sykehuset. Wallawan had polio on her right eye and she will always be blind on that eye. Probably she will also stay blind on the left eye, but they start some treatment to see if she can be able to see a little bit (probably only see the different between light and dark). Her parents and also we in Faa lang fon were sad to hear the news, eventhoug it was expected. We will help the familiy as much as we can. On the picture above is Wallawan together with her mother.
Wallawan har polio i det høyre øye så hun vil alltid være blind på det. Antageligvis vil hun også forbli blind på det venstre øye, men en har startet på en behandling for å se om hun vil kunne være i stand til å se litt (antageligvis bare skille mellom lys og mørke). Det var triste nyheter selv om det var som forventet. Vi vil hjelpe familien så mye som vi kan. På bildet ovenfor så ser du Wallawan sammen med moren.
